Proficient computer and keyboarding skills combined with the knowledge of medical terminology and training in Order Entry

Completion of a clerical/secretarial training program or equivalent education

Experience in a seniors and or mental health care environment preferred

Effective interpersonal and communication skills combined with good problem solving skills when dealing with patients, visitors, families and other hospital staff

Must have experience with Meditech and Sunrise programs and documentation

Assists with documentation and communication related to patient admission, care processes, and post-discharge follow-up

Conducts patient assessment, intervention, education, patient advocacy & discharge planning

Alternate shifts with an equivalently skilled Birthing Unit nurse and provides care to women in labour and their families

Recent, related obstetric RN experience in Tertiary care setting required

Recent, related maternal & newborn experience

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills are essential.

Breastfeeding skills course certificate required

In-Patient UCA Experience in the health care environment is required

Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills is required

Liaises with internal departments and external healthcare facilities to book/cancel tests, appointments, internal patient transfer, external patient transport/escort, etc, as required.

Works collaboratively with the clinical quality acre leader/charge nurse to facilitate patient flow in and out of the inpatient unit

Transcribes and enters patient orders including medication, lab and imaging orders into appropriate system.

Enters data including patient tests, medication, appointments, menu/diet orders, patient transfer and discharge plan of care.

Grade 12 Education or equivalent

Minimum One (1) year experience in a related clinical area

Support annual audit process with Regional Management as requested

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience

5 years' work experience as lead in accounting/finance role

Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, to include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Excellent knowledge of EXCEL/ACCESS and Microsoft Office Suite software, A/P, A/R, Payroll, G/L and cash handling; Lawson experience is highly desired

Proven ability to work with all levels of staff and management

Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
