310T training (truck and coach technician) and at leat 1 year of experience in mechanic

Carry out general maintenance of the fleet of vehicles of the company;

Repair diesel mechanical systems (trucks);

Repair hydraulic, electrical ad air systems;

Perform regular mechanical inspections on trucks;

Perform various welding tasks such as design, assembly, repair and fabrication;

Thorough knowledge of all applicable motor vehicle legislation, safety regulations, WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Working knowledge of transit equipment including electronic fareboxes, destination signs, communication equipment and GPS technology

Posses organizational skills to set priorities and meet required deadlines

Must be knowledgeable of the operation and servicing of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment installed in the vehicles

Coach and Bus Mechanic experience

Experience in repair and service of diesel equipment

Some experience with vehicle maintenance required

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Good math and computer skills.

Knowledge in Diesel/Gasoline powered engine and power-train mechanics

Performs all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet vehicles.

Reviews driver vehicle inspection reports.

Accurately complete forms, reports and input/retrieve information into Fleet Management System

Plan and schedule duties according to work priorities and requirements as directed

Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent

Experience with diagnostic equipment, ie: scanners, digital meters, tire balancers, brake lathes, and AC filling and testing equipment

Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment

Obtain a DOT medical certification

3-5 years' experience as a truck mechanic

Have an active driver’s license

Be at least 21 years of age

Provide documentation regarding their previous employment

7+ years of relevant experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or other related fields working on box or large haul trucks

Strong knowledge of wiring, soldering, crimping, splicing, and repairing

Experience in building and repairing computer networking systems (preferred)

Experience with diagnosing and repairing modern CAN bus-based automotive systems (preferred)

Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on light/medium duty trucks (Class 2-6)

$35.00 – 38.00/hourly, wage rang varies based on experience level, certification and qualification.

Strong computer diagnostic skills, able to diagnose and troubleshoot engine malfunctions/faults codes

310T Certification or Equivalent inter-provincial Red Seal Journeyman Truck & Transport/Heavy Duty Certification.

Must have basic computer skill

Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections

Must have your own tools

Two years of verifiable mechanic experience.

Starting pay$33 to $36per hour plus shift premiums; $5/h shift premiums for weekend shift

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Tool allowance after 1 year of service

Boot allowance after 1 year of service

Valid Class G Driver's License.

Starting wage for fully Licensed 310T mechanic is $33.40 and $34.45 for dual 310S/310T combined

Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
