Traffic Safety Engineer Jobs

Project Management experience is a plus.

10+ years of experience in IS certification highly preferred.

Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.

Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.

What you’ll experience working at UL:

Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. Prepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.

Engages in contractor safety management activities, including contractor selection and prequalification, monitoring work site compliance, and measuring performance.

Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with peers and members of management.

Facilitates the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with objectives and expectations.

Has at least seven years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.

Possesses comprehensive experience in both occupational and process safety.

Develops associated safety processes and participates in self-assessments to evaluate effectiveness.

Review and assist in developing scope-of-works for the company's projects/studies (e.g., Road Safety audit, Traffic Impact study, Temporary Traffic Management, etc.)

Knowledge and experience of using international standards such as AASHTO - Green Book, HCM, HSM, MUTCD, and ITE & FHWA guidelines

Enhance TSSD - Engineering group staffs' technical capacity by establishing proper training and developing efficient processes for knowledge sharing/transfer

Have 15 years of experience in Traffic Engineering, Highway Design, Transportation Planning & Traffic Safety Studies

Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written

Excellent knowledge of transportation planning evaluation tools and procedures

Experience in project management, report preparation, and client relationship management;

Strong organizational and time management skills;

MTO RAQS (Registry, Appraisal and Qualification System) certification for Traffic Analysis, or qualifications to certify;

Strong interpersonal skills that focus on meeting customer requirements;

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities;

Experience with transportation studies, specifically with Transportation Master Plan and Active Modes of Transportation projects is desirable;

Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge/experience with the TES application

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with project management, and organizational skills

BA or BSc, preferably in Mathematics or Biostatistics or other related Public Health Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience

A minimum three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead
