Technical Leader – Civil Structural Engineering Jobs

A minimum of 7 years of experience in civil and structural engineering

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required

Practicing Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian Province

Solid understanding of relevant building codes, regulations and industry standards

Strong work management, leadership experience and great communication skills;

Sound knowledge and experience with QA/QC requirements for structural works including welding and coating;

Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; and

Providing clear work objectives and expectations of the quality requirements for all aspects of work performed by Contractors; and

Maintain an up to date knowledge on applicable engineering codes, corporate codes, policy and procedures, environmental regulations and Safety.

10+ years’ relevant experience preferably in civil or structural design;

Proven experience in managing civil, structural, and architectural aspects of large-scale construction projects, preferably within industrial or manufacturing sectors.

In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations relevant to civil, structural, and architectural design.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building certifications, such as LEED, would be advantageous.

Professional licensure or certification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture is preferred.

Mining and Minerals Project and or Management experience

Utilize the company's performance management system to evaluate the performance of the civil engineering and structural engineering workforce, recognize achievements.

Work with Principals, Business Unit managers, Business Development, and Project Managers to prepare fee estimates and proposals.

Ensuring that all company deliverables are complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant codes, standards, specifications, and safety requirements.

10 years of experience in Canadian industrial and commercial structural steel design, including rigid frame design.

Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly and enthusiastically.

Experience with processing, mining, refining, upgrading, or Oil Sands facilities projects

Strong computer skills with proficiency in STAAD Pro computer design, Microstation and AutoCAD, Caesar II, Structural office

Experience supporting teams such as Engineering, Construction, Maintenance, Operations, and EPC contractors

Shift schedule: 4x3 – Monday to Thursday (10 hour days)

▪Strong programming skills (MATLAB, Python, VBA or similar)

▪Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

▪Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (or French)

▪Experience in conducting experimental programs related to structural engineering

▪Experience in aluminum structural analysis

▪Experience in working with machine learning, especially deep-learning and neural networks
