Technical Analyst – Traffic Safety Jobs

Professional Engineering licensing/certification/registration in Fire Protection Engineering is highly desirable, as is an advanced degree.

Review and assist in developing scope-of-works for the company's projects/studies (e.g., Road Safety audit, Traffic Impact study, Temporary Traffic Management, etc.)

Knowledge and experience of using international standards such as AASHTO - Green Book, HCM, HSM, MUTCD, and ITE & FHWA guidelines

Enhance TSSD - Engineering group staffs' technical capacity by establishing proper training and developing efficient processes for knowledge sharing/transfer

Have 15 years of experience in Traffic Engineering, Highway Design, Transportation Planning & Traffic Safety Studies

Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written

Excellent knowledge of transportation planning evaluation tools and procedures

Perform hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP), hazard analyses (PHA, SHA, OSHA, FTA), safety analyses (FFMEA, FMECA, FSA) and hazard management

Detailed knowledge of system safety lifecycle, system requirements definition, safety design concepts (system and software), safety and risk analysis

Define safety requirements; analyze and evaluate design compliance with safety requirements and safety principles

Report directly to the UK RAMS Manager and liaise with the Chief Safety Architect

Knowledge of railway signaling systems, train control systems, fixed and moving block signaling principles, relay-based and/or computer-based interlocking design

Good technical writing skills, excellent communication and analytical skills; excellent command of the English language, both written and oral

Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge/experience with the TES application

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with project management, and organizational skills

BA or BSc, preferably in Mathematics or Biostatistics or other related Public Health Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience

A minimum three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Experience You Have

Master’s degree in Technology Management, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.

10+ years’ experience in technology or product innovation with 3-5 years’ leadership experience.

Prepare designs, illustrations and figures used to depict traffic requirements for proposed access points and road allowance dedications.

Review and approval site plan applications and applications to amend zoning by-laws from a transportation planning perspective.

Prepare reports and review minor variance/land consent applications for Committee of Adjustment and Letter of Credit releases/reductions.
