To ensure records management functions for the department are completed in accordance to the County’s classification system and retention schedule.

Effectively manage and safeguard the financial and material assets of the department.

Prepare budget worksheets and provide estimates based on experience, averages and historical figures and compare with actual costs and monitor expenditures.

Meet administrative requirements relating to Fleet vehicles and equipment.

Minimum of two years’ related experience, preferably in a municipal setting in purchasing budget preparation and administration; and accounting.

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Asset Management (selection, procurement, use, care and lifecycle analysis of vehicle and equipment assets)

Develop and review energy management programs related to vehicle fuel as legislated

Completion of a diploma in Fleet/Heavy Equipment Management, Business Administration, Automotive Technology or a related field

Membership in the Fleet Management Association (NAFA) with a Certified Automotive Fleet Management designation an asset

Ensure all works are undertaken and constructed to an appropriate standard and in compliance with applicable legislative and regulated requirements.

Manage and direct effective maintenance and repair programs for all equipment in the fleet

Responsible for import of all equipment from US manufacturing facilities to Canada including logistics of move and customs requirements

PC skills using Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in grade control and quality management will be considered an asset

Ensure compliance to the Quality Management System and that ore quality delivered to customers meet product specifications.

Ensure compliance to the waste rock management plan and other environmental regulations and standards

Advanced knowledge of mobile equipment capabilities and production systems required

Manage social problems as they occur and administer discipline as required.

Analyse equipment and processes capabilities and develop production targets.

Strong change management skills, with proven experience driving behavior change.

Previous supervisory or management experience is an asset.

Work with all Arrow Group of Company locations to determine inventory requirements for new asset commissioning and requirements for decommissioning.

Previous experience, 5-8 years, working in the field of transportation and specifically working with equipment.

Previous experience working in a Shop environment is an asset.

Relevant post-secondary education is considered an asset.

Strong planning, organizational and time management skills

Experience & understanding of AVL/GPS systems

Working knowledge of highway construction, maintenance and design

Previous supervisory experience in a unionized setting

Effective communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, stakeholders and public
