A Substance Use Clinician is a professional who provides counseling and treatment to individuals with substance use disorders. They work with individuals to develop strategies to reduce or eliminate substance use and to promote recovery.What is Substance Use Clinician Skills Required?
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, addiction, and recovery
• Ability to assess and diagnose substance use disorders
• Ability to develop individualized treatment plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices
• Ability to provide crisis intervention
• Knowledge of community resources
What is Substance Use Clinician Qualifications?
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field
• Licensure or certification in substance use disorder counseling
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
What is Substance Use Clinician Knowledge?
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of substance use disorder counseling
• Knowledge of the stages of change and motivational interviewing
• Knowledge of the principles of addiction and recovery
