Ability to successfully complete relevant VCH required education.

Comprehensive knowledge of the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Professional and Practice standards for nursing.

Demonstrated ability in the initiation and management of IV therapy and administration of IV medications.

Prepare for and respond to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations, and the requirement to be on-call as required.

Two (2) years recent, related endoscopy or acute medical/surgical or critical care experience.

Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family centred model of care.

Broad knowledge of BCCNM standards for nursing practice.

Broad knowledge of Gastrointestinal (GI) anatomy and physiology.

Collaborates with management staff and colleagues in the evaluation of own practice and maintains competence through continuing education and self-reflection.

Able to articulate effectively knowledge of components of quality and risk management principles as they relate to clinical practices.
