Restorative Justice Worker Jobs in Nova Scotia

Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.

Assists in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful restorative programs for the residents.

Promotes and supports a team environment.

Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, and evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.

Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.

Demonstrated understanding of case management principles, including person-centred, strengths-based practices and trauma-informed approaches;

Relevant tertiary qualification in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Social Work, Community Services, or Psychology;

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and high computer literacy.

Part-Time - 12 Month Contract

$ 47.50 - $ 49.65 per hour + Superannuation + NFP Salary Packaging

An understanding of Youth Justice, homelessness services and the community services sector;

Focussed on mainstream EYFS, Primary, Secondary curriculums with the ABA focus, combined with key and functional skills

Nurturing young people with the academic, independence and life skills they need

Tapping into creative, sport, technology, cooking – any outlet the boys and girls have, the school explore and positively encourage it

Enhanced Child and Adult DBS required to work with vulnerable children, safeguarding

Level 5 and above grade (A* to C) required in Maths and English

All training and support provided by the school with their excellent training system

Experience in long term care in developing/ leading programs for residents with varied physical and cognitive abilities;

Commitment to ongoing education to meet resident’s needs/staffing needs and legislative requirements;

Education Coordination – Onboarding process/Excellence Program/Safety Program/24-7/Surge/Table Talks

Experience in Point of Care is considered an asset;

Preference with knowledge of community resources within the service area and able to relate to them in a professional manner;

Develop restorative programs and collaborate with OT/PT/PTA for the residents;

Skills and/or education that are clearly relevant and transferable to the work of a justice of the peace.

Keen interest in people and humanity, including cross-cultural experience and community engagement.

Experience providing functional advice, guidance and assistance to/at multiple levels of authority.

Proven ability and experience in making sound, practical and timely decisions with complex factors.

Proven reputation for punctuality, reliability, organization skills and preparedness.

Highly developed intellectual and analytical skills.
