Experience with care and handling of incarcerated persons in a policing environment.

Knowledge of RCMP computer applications, RCMP Policy, police radio equipment.

First Aid and CPR Certification.

The overall supervision of prisoners while in custody.

Securing effects and maintaining their continuity for the duration the prisoner is in custody.

Participates in the interviewing, selection and evaluation of part-time staff and volunteers.

Ensures that that established standards of cleanliness and safety are enforced.

Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports related to the work.

Assists in the recruitment and training of Lifeguard/Instructors and shift supervisors.

Ensures that daily tasks are completed.

Assists in programming & auditing courses and entering grades in registration software (PerfectMind).

Excellent time management, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills

Responsible for safety supervision, class management, and risk management at the swimming classes.

Aquafitness Certification through CALA or Water ART or willing to obtain certification

Strong organizational and instructional skills

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work as a team member

Work according to Health and Safety Act, Lifesaving Society Standards, and Norfolk County Policies.

Perform the pickup’s and delivery of valuabes safely and efficiently for each client

Reload or perform minor repairs on ABM (automated banking machine) from various financial institutions

Ensure a safe environment for your colleagues and customers

Follow established routes and schedules closely

Transfer all exhibits from the TEL to the main exhibit locker (MEL) ensuring quality control requirements are met

This position has solid working knowledge of the Court Liaison Officer (CLO) position and may be assigned CLO duties as required

Qualification under the British Columbia Police Act to receive appointment to Special Provincial Constable status

Knowledge of Access to Information and Privacy Act

Minimum 50 WPM Typing skills

Ensure all exhibits are safely packaged and firearms are rendered inoperable when they are moved

Behaviors, Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

Must hold current Emergency Level First Aid and CPR qualification.

Liaise with officers to complete C-13 during the Book-in process of Prisoners.

Conduct Lawyer calling and transfer to prisoners when connected to Lawyer for officers during the book in process.

When required by officers retrieve Photo’s from the I-book system for investigational purposes and send to officer.

Fingerprint Prisoner during Book In process with officer present.

Required Education, Qualifications And Experience

Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.

Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.

Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.

Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed.

Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.

QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Observe and check prisoners frequently and irregularly, this may include the use of Closed- Circuit Television (CCTV).

Organize meals, record prisoner activity, and maintain a prisoner activity logbook.

Monitor prisoners while in hospital (when required).

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of cells when vacated or arrange janitor assistance.

Record and report any damages or repairs to cells.

Hourly rate starting at $22,66/hour to $26,14/hour dependent upon the job function
