Knowledge of behaviour management theory, strategies, and techniques

Attend required curriculum training and professional development opportunities. Maintain qualifications and certifications as required by the YMCA and provincial standards

Training/experience/volunteering in a field that relates to the needs of children with Special Needs or differing abilities/diagnosis

Minimum of six months’ experience working with young children

Experience working in a licensed child care setting an asset

Resource Teacher/ Consultant, Early Interventionist, Behavioural Science (i.e. ABA, IBI), Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification or equivalent an asset

Provide data entry, file management, generating of reports, and other database work

Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience

Extensive working knowledge of MS Office Professional and strong computer skills

Works with the Director, Manager(s), Team Lead(s) to ensure effective communication within the program areas

Maintain, sort and manage incoming electronic correspondence folders

Patience and clear communication skills for working with individuals who require digital navigation support

Valid Driver’s License, adequate insurance and access to a vehicle to carry out job duties

Clinical work experience, ideally in substance use assessment and treatment, including intake and crisis services an asset
