Power Electronics Design Release Engineer Jobs

Update engineering issues in customer change management systems (e.g., CN, EWO, WERS, AIMS, etc.)

Communicate to customer the content and status of the design, design changes, and build requirements

Release non-Yazaki parts (screws, standard parts, etc.) into the customer system per statement of work and Internal Design Requirements

Ensure design meets customer and internal requirements

Collaborate with DVP&R (Design Verification Process & Report) team to validate customer requirements

BSEE or BSME or equivalent experience

Demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field

Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles, methods and practices

Thorough knowledge of electrical and traction power design principles, equipment, and systems used by the TTC

Sound judgement and well-developed technical, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, verbal communication and engineering report-writing skills

Plan, schedule and produce detailed calculations, design, contract specifications and engineering drawings for department specific system projects.

Prepare engineered calculations, designs and specifications for planned and emergency work

Assist in the creation and management of ILS requirements, including technical manuals and other supporting documentation

Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience

Advanced knowledge of project management tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent technical writing, planning, and project management skills

Excellent time management skills and is able to set and achieve goals and objectives

Project management of a wide variety of electrical design activities of varying scope and scale

Participate in all aspects of the project life cycle including concept definition and trade-offs, requirements development, design, testing, release, and maintenance.

Ensure that system design meets relevant agency requirements, including airworthiness and EMC

Bachelor of Sc. or higher in Electrical or Electronic engineering with minimum five years of professional experience.

Ability to develop schematics and guide PCB Knowledge of Altium and asset.

Knowledge of low noise, wide bandwidth amplifiers, photo detectors and wide dynamic range signals detection techniques.

Experience with opamps, ADCs and DACs.

Provide guidance and direction to suppliers through resourcing, process or sourcing changes, and development using the appropriate change management system

Experience and working knowledge of automatic transmission and driveline components

Develop technical requirements for components and subsystems of conventional automatic and hybrid transmissions

Requirement is not to locate in the Windsor area.

The requirement is to be able to work at ARDC site as needed.

3-5 years of automotive engineering experience in product development design and release with a minimum of 2 years of powertrain experience

Strong teamwork capabilities, along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.

Familiarity with designing to spacecraft requirements (radiation, high reliability)

Strong hands-on laboratory experience measuring performance and debug of designs

Leading a team of less experienced engineers as well as performing detailed designs

Support to System Engineering trade-offs

Failure Mode (FMECA) and Worst Case Analysis (WCA).

Well organized, good time management and ability to work on several concurrent projects

Education: Electrical Engineering degree (Master’s or PhD considered an asset)

Experience: minimum 5 years’ experience in power electronics

Development of high power (1kW+) switching power systems and experience with 600VAC systems required

Desire to learn, drive to expand knowledge

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

· Troubleshoot EMI/EMC and participate in external lab testing process.

· Schematic entry using Altium Designer and familiar with PCB design.

· Familiar with 3D modeling (Solid Works is an advantage).
