Payroll Tax Manager Jobs in Nova Scotia

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance

5+ years' of experience of professional tax experience

Strong communication and analytical skills

Prepare and review tax returns

Identify opportunities to minimize the effective tax rate

Prepare for and lead tax audits

Final review of tax compliance; including tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, and related foreign reporting requirements;

Conducting tax research and interpreting tax legislation and proposed legislative changes to suggest proactive solutions to clients, Senior Managers, and Partners;

Delegate tasks where appropriate and manage their completion within firm quality and client delivery standards;

Thorough understanding and experience with Canadian income taxation, with tax planning experience as an asset

Eagerness to be continuously learning and gaining experience in a broad range of tax conce

Be the backup for the Payroll Manager.

Project Manage the analysis, selection, implementation, and deployment of a new Time & Attendance solution.

Experience and knowledge in processing USA payrolls is an asset.

Issue annual tax benefit and pension forms for all locations.

Minimum 5 years of payroll processing for multi provincial payrolls in a large organization with union experience.

Working knowledge of industry payroll systems such as Avanti or ADP is preferred

Effective communication skills both verbal and written to interact at all levels of the organization.

Knowledge of payroll compliance, provincial and federal employment legislation for Canada.
