A working level knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management software; and,

Promoting the strategic educational priorities of Whitby Fire & Emergency Services;

Examining and assessing education and/or training programs and courses to ensure compliance with legislated standards and/or applicable guidelines;

Proactively analyze information to identify potential education and/or training needs necessary to counteract trends related to injuries, fire losses etc.;

Thoroughly understand and maintain qualifications in the operation and maintenance of all equipment related to training;

Grade 12 education or equivalent secondary education as established by the Ontario Ministry of Education;

5 years experience in fire suppression;

Demonstrated presentation and demonstration skills;

Post secondary education in adult education or other relevant discipline.

Demonstrated instructional experience in emergency medical response.

Demonstrated instructional experience in advanced extrication.

Reviews training plans proposed by the Head of Training Management and provide feedback based on experience

Assists the LIMS training manager in upskilling the training team

Ensures that users of any level are continuously upskilled in using LIMS by means of classroom or web-based trainings

Good understanding of laboratory practices and techniques (i.e., Good Laboratory Practice) and laboratory accreditation requirements (ISO 17025).

Laboratory Chemist, Software Engineer or Laboratory experience required.
