Proven experience building and leading effective engineering teams

Ensure consistent information is provided across regulatory proceedings

Creatively develop new approach to resolve engineering challenges

Enhance the analytical capability within System Planning by leading the development of new analytical tools and practices

Design new business practices and provide expert opinion in business process improvement

Knowledge and experience working with operating criteria, reliability standards, compliance requirements, WECC audit processes.

Proven knowledge and/or experience with PSS/E, other similar software tools including Python scripting.

B.Sc. Electrical Engineering; advanced or additional qualifications also considered.

10+ years experience in high voltage power systems operation, planning and analysis.

B.Sc. Electrical Engineering with advanced/additional qualifications considered advantageous.

2 to 5 years experience in high voltage power systems operation, planning or analysis.

Experience in integrated utility planning is considered a definite asset.

Experience with PSS/E or other transmission system planning tools.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

A minimum of 5 year experience and advanced skill level in scheduling using Oracle Primavera P6 (V7 or greater);

Manage all aspects of work package development as per the Turnaround Planning Guide.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment;

Journeyman Trade or equivalent experience;

5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling role in the Petrochemical industry;

5+ years of experience in executing turnarounds;

Lead and manage the daily operations of the Forest Resources Operations Planning team.

A minimum of 3-5 years operational planning and/or operations experience.

Extensive experience with the Government of Alberta’s policies and processes.

University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry or demonstrated equivalent experience (must be eligible for professional designation).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Thorough knowledge of strategic planning.
