Operating Room Unit Clerk Jobs in Nova Scotia

Demonstrated knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Graduate of a post-secondary secretarial or office administration program or equivalent required

Graduation from an approved Medical Terminology course required

Ability to work in an area with frequent interruptions

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Experience in OR Booking procedures and use of Operating Room Management System an asset

Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills

Experience working with Meditech systems (OE and EMR ORM preferred)

Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills

Graduate of an approved office administration course

Successful completion of a course in medical terminology

At least one year of experience required

Shift: 3x12-Hour 07:00 - 19:00

Previous unit clerk experience preferred

Grade XII plus one year related clerical experience or recognized one year secretarial/business program

Knowledge of medical terminology an asset

Experience using STAR, PHS, SHARE, HPF and Millenium preferred

Knowledge of computers and typing required

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

One year related clerical experience, or successful completion of a recognized one year secretarial/office/business program

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Experience with HSM / STAR / PHS / Portal / Share preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word and Excel
