ECE II/III certification with specialization in inclusion support, children with special needs or equivalent

Education/training in human ecology, child development, applied counseling, or a Family Support Worker Certificate

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working successfully with young people/children, including those with additional support needs

Experience working with families in marginalized communities and community agencies

A diploma in human/social services or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

One-year minimum combined education and relevant experience associated with community social services

Valid First Aid and CPR certification

Mandt Certification (Available training upon successful application)

Class 7N, Class 5, or where required class 4 unrestricted driver’s license

Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills in addressing multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment required.

Minimum 5 years’ previous experience working in a health care setting preferred.

Demonstrated Psychosocial Oncology knowledge preferred.

Proven excellent assessment, counselling and problem solving skills essential.

Superior communication, negotiation, mediation and collaborative interprofessional team skills required.

Well-established knowledge of relevant health care system processes and community resources required.

Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, including the handling of multiple, concurrent issues and tasks.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Previous experience with individuals and families affected by dementia.

Previous experience with a community-based agency and/or not-for-profit agency

Previous experience in the development and delivery of both individual care plans and group support activities.

Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
