Utilizes and maintains case management software to compile data and statistics, provides regular reports, informs program development.

Coordination and Administration – Wellness and Disability Management

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, or related role.

Supports development and maintenance of OHS programs.

Supports training initiatives including conducting research, providing content, supporting delivery, compliance efforts and calendar planning.

Creates communications and resources material for OHS awareness raising and injury prevention.

Experience collaborating and developing programs in conjunction with a disability management team.

Experience within a government or crown organization or similar public institution (e.g., educational institute).

Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 8 years and must include the following:

Experience managing a team of employees as a direct supervisor and providing guidance to senior advisor-level staff.

Experience developing and delivering employee wellness programs.

Experience developing programs aligned with best practices in retail or distribution environments.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

In partnership with the HR Compliance Manager;

Sound knowledge of all applicable legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Acts, AODA and other Accessibility legislation) and HR policies and practices.

Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to prepare written reports, work plans and presentations.

Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to lead committees and collaborate with teams across departments.

Experienced in the development and delivery of health and safety programs and training, including conducting needs and risk assessments.

High level planning, time-management, and project management skills;

Responsible for development and management of Health, Safety and Wellness’ annual budget and financial reporting;

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage and multitask in an environment filled with competing priorities;

Demonstrated experience in a public sector or educational environment; and

Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.

Develop and implement strategies for supervisors to monitor compliance of training, awareness and educations plans for all stakeholder areas;

Knowledge and experience of computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g. D2L, Zoom) is an asset

Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system

Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles

Post-secondary education in related field is required

Minimum three years of relevant industry experience

Experience teaching online asynchronous students is an asset

5-7 years experience in project management or new product innovation at a CPG company (preferably in the wellness/supplement space)

Great technical prowess with Excel and other MS Office products, experience with project management software (Asana, Hive, Wrike, Microsoft Project, etc.).

Background and strong interest in process development and project management principles; Master Data and Continuous Improvement principles experience a plus

Maintain communications and meeting documentation, including status and financial updates, project plans, QA ticketing, and asset management

Own, track, and manage project plans and timeline

Identify, manage, and eliminate project barriers or risks to ensure project health

Union Management Experience (where residence is unionized)

Providing quality clinical services based on the needs and requirements of each individual resident

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience and one (1) year of leadership experience

Ensuring Resident & Employee Safety and well-being

Achieving Resident Satisfaction Survey & Employee Engagement Survey targets

Ensuring that all care and services provided for are billed and labour aligned

Responsibilities of the Health and Wellness Manager at Maple Court Retirement Residence

Knowledge and understanding of the Retirement Homes Act and other applicable legislation,

Human resources and labour relations experience.

Assigns, delegates and evaluates the activities of the wellness department,

Plans assigns and oversees the Residents’ health and personal care services,

Implements and monitors quality improvement,

Manage the reporting requirements to the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Health;

Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) is considered an asset;

Manage and oversees programs and services to reduce WSIB costs and short-term and long-term absence costs;

Provides oversight to Service-wide occupational health, safety and wellness programs and education campaigns;

Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred;

Experience working collaboratively with senior leadership and with multiple stakeholders on organizational-wide committees;
