Living Lab Coordinator Jobs

1+ years' experience in a post-secondary Bio/Chem lab setting.

Knowledge and proficiency with standard lab equipment including microscopes, autoclaves, gas burners, specimens, chemicals, etc.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive inventory of lab equipment and supplies.

Maintain order and cleanliness of lab rooms and storage areas.

Conduct routine checks of lab equipment and arrange maintenance, repairs, and replacement as necessary.

Research, follow, and implement best practices of collection management

Manage and maintain living plants, fungi and algal cultures

Demonstrated knowledge of plant nomenclature and systematics

Experience in plant propagation highly desirable

Demonstrated skills with compound and dissecting microscopes required

Experience in the use of standard laboratory equipment essential

- Work with a Linux environment, experience with scripting languages would be beneficial (bash, perl, tcl, python)

2) Lab experience coordinating lab equipment / intra-lab moves

3) Linux OS experience, especially installation

Hands on troubleshooting of devices to maintain functional status

Re-configuration of functional equipment to work in the new automation environment.

Hands on troubleshooting and configuration of Cisco Switches and Routers.

1+ years' experience in a post-secondary Bio/Chem lab setting.

Communicates with, and reports regularly to, the Research Program Manager and/or periodically with investigators about the status of research projects.

Experience with Redcap considered an asset

Overseeing, coordinating and conducting research projects, including communication with partner research sites within and outside Canada

The compensation for this position is $21.29 to $23.96 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

6 months experience working with children and families preferred

Knowledge and understanding of First Nation's culture is an asset

In-home family support experience is preferred

Knowledge and training in addictions and mental health is an asset.

A University/College Degree or Diploma related to Agriculture or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience and asset.

Manage project budgets and expenditures.

Participate and collaborate with in-field demos and events to assist deliverables and knowledge mobilization (eg. Videos, workshops, meetings, etc.).

High level of diplomacy and strong written and oral communication skills.

Assist and liaise with collaborators and producers providing relevant information, tools, and resources.
