Junior Purchasing Coordinator Jobs in Nova Scotia

Coordinate raw material purchasing/requirements with area supervisors

As a secondary role, backfill for Logistics Assistant I as required to manage production scheduling and outgoing bulk shipments.

Minimum grade 12 education or equivalency.

SAP experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Experience in a similar role – customer service, purchasing, production planning and scheduling.

Must be detail oriented and have strong problem-solving skills.

Note: Experience in the food industry is a must

2 year experience in logistic

Currently looking for Purchasing Coordinator

Certification from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is preferred.

Maintain Costing for all items in data base with support from Category Management teammates.

Work closely with Category Management Team and Supply Chain Resource Team.

Understanding of supply chain – logistics, purchasing, shipping/receiving, inventory management and purchasing practices and procedures

1-3 years’ supply chain and procurement experience in a high-volume distribution environment (preferred)

Previous experience working with AS400 Systems an asset.

Project management: take lead on projects as assigned by manager, provide purchasing support

2 - 3 years of purchasing experience

Experience with Yardi Systems Software

Request for quote (RFQ) activities; Create RFQs, send to suppliers for pricing, compare returned RFQs from different suppliers

Report weekly in team meetings and discuss daily in team huddles

Negotiating; negotiate with suppliers to get lower pricing and improved service
