Junior Project Controls Analyst Jobs

Five (5) to 10 years of experience in project controls, project planning, or a related field

Knowledge of Primavera and project scheduling is required

Experience with SAP Project Systems and billing sales orders is required

Knowledge of project flow and critical path activities.

Experience with project execution and project planning – direct experience in water treatment preferred

Able to work in a matrix organization and has proven collaboration skills

Liaise with various groups within the company including but not limited to Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, and Operations.

An Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Business, or equivalent, with applicable further development in Project Management would be preferred.

Lead on project controls support, including project planning, cost controls, schedule management, forecast and analysis, and closeout.

Minimum 5 years of financial project cost control, forecasting and financial analysis experience.

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Experience with Oracle JD Edwards – Project Costing would be a definite asset.

Knowledge of cost/financial reporting systems and analysis e.g., forecasting, change management, metrics, Quantity Unit Rate Reporting)

Support efforts to re-cast project estimates into manageable cost control budgets per project requirements

Maintain or coordinate the project cost change management system (trending).

Experience with statistical analysis, or skilled in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports

Strong knowledge in project controls software such as EcoSys, SAP, and Oracle (or Oracle JDE) is an asset

Knowledge in capital cost estimating and services estimating

Experience with working with databases, data management, analysis and reporting is an asset

Assist in aligning applicable project control areas such as estimating, forecasting, cost, schedule, project change management, and reporting

General understanding of Project Management and/or project control techniques

Support the Project Manager and Project Controls team in preparing cost estimates and change orders for stakeholder and customer approval

Prepare monthly status reports for project and program reviews; provide feedback to project managers and the project controls manager

Requires excellent verbal and written knowledge of English in order to effectively communicate with the project team.

Support the execution (planning, documentation and execution) of IT General Controls (ITGC) as Management for the BRP organization.

Good knowledge of US and Canadian regulatory requirements relating to IT General Control.

Excellent communication, teamwork skills and a desire to work in a high performing team.

Knowledge of the Google Suite of Products (Gmail, Sheets, Meets, Chat).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is a must, and French is highly desirable.

An Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Design, or related program

Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley), HMI Programming (Factory Talk, PlantPAx), AutoCAD/Electrical Design, Debug/Testing/Commissioning

Train the project team on how to implement and maintain the prescribed change management procedures.

Provide Aecon management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses.

Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

Assist the project manager in preparing project monthly reports and forecasting.

Good knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles.

Strong computer skills - MS Office, MS Access, SAP and Power BI Applications

Develop and manage relationships with business stakeholders and the company’s external auditors

3+ years of public accounting and related oil & gas industry experience

Experience in assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)

Plan and perform detailed accounting process walk-throughs and control test procedures

Provide advisory services related to internal control design, process efficiency and effectiveness

Understand the Prime Contract invoicing requirements. Maintain required billing backups. Prepare monthly invoice package for approval by Project Manager.

Work with vendors and suppliers to make sure our client's invoicing standard requirements are met.

Support project team in the administration of subcontracts and other project contractual requirements.

Some basic knowledge of company ERP systems, and/or scheduling applications would be beneficial.

Review and code internal time sheets, supplier PO and invoices, and subcontract LEMs if required.

Maintain commercial change order list and track internal change orders. Reflect them in our cost and revenue forecast accordingly.

Understand the Prime Contract invoicing requirements. Maintain required billing backups. Prepare monthly invoice package for approval by Project Manager.

Work with vendors and suppliers to make sure Michels Canada invoicing standard requirements are met.

Support project team in the administration of subcontracts and other project contractual requirements.

6 months minimum experience in related engineering or project accountant/cost control related position or project scheduling

Some basic knowledge of company ERP systems, and/or scheduling applications would be beneficial.

Review and code internal time sheets, supplier PO and invoices, and subcontract LEMs if required.
