·Communicate clearly with project manager, and outside consultants regarding project requirements, deadlines, and the like.

As an Intermediate Mechanical Designer, the following responsibilities would be expected:

·Coordinate with other project consultants for equipment selections and space requirements.

·3 or more year’s experience with mechanical systems in new construction.

·Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Carrier HAP

·Experience in Revit is an asset.

Experience working closely with various stakeholders including clients, project management, and other technical disciplines.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Report to Mechanical Discipline Lead on progress of work and ensure coordination between the engineering, design, and project management teams.

Commitment to risk and change management processes.

Recent experience in executing multiple design projects and multi-disciplined small to medium size projects, including both engineering and procurement.

Experience with CSA, ASME, and API standards related to piping as well as rotating and static equipment.

Strong leadership, relationship management, and organizational planning and project management skills, in addition to technical knowledge

Conduct work in accordance with Laporte Professional Practice Management Plan and guidelines

Management of deliverables and project execution (estimated 50% of workload)

Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements

Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening and interpersonal with the ability to transfer knowledge to others

3-10 years of progressive experience in the area of process design for the Agrifood industry

Fundamental understanding of project management principles including the capability to manage your work to meet a given budget

•Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal effectively with clients, other disciplines, and team members.
