Knowledge of IT security and infrastructure an asset

Completed CPA, CA, CGA, CMA preferred

Post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting/Finance or Auditing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Provide staff education, staff awareness training and internal audit skill development as appropriate

Follow-up on status of outstanding management action plans which includes verification of action plan completeness

Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate financial statements, internal controls, and business processes.

Review and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and procedures, providing recommendations for enhancements and risk mitigation.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior auditors, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality work.

Assist in the preparation of audit reports and presentations, conveying findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.

Good management, communication, mediation and consulting skills.

Post-secondary degree with professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA, FCA) and one year relevant post-qualification experience.

Internal audit experience preferred, preferably in the banking or trust industries

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Conducting and/or assisting in specialized audits of banking activities, reviewing activities, and recording and discussing the findings.

Preparing individual audit work papers and records.

Minimum two years of audit, compliance, risk management, and/or railroad operations experience
