Intermediate Environmental Site Assessor Jobs

Experience with exposure and risk modelling for both federal and Ontario-based HHERAs

Working experience of the various types of risk assessments (i.e., DDRAs, Tier 2, Tier 3, New science, federal risk assessments)

Experience with water quality issues and soil/sediment contamination concerns

Experience conducting environmental liability assessments in accordance with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) Liability Management Program is an asset.

Project planning, coordination, and management

Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation

Strong analytical and technical writing skills

Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills

Supervision of field and office staff as required.

Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience including understanding of operational construction and crossing management, field work, data collection, site assessments.

Strong interpersonal skills including communication – both written and oral.

Experience using Trimble and or Garmin GPS units and ArcGIS software.

Experience in various aspects of environmental site assessments would be considered beneficial.

Candidates with any level of post-secondary environmental or forestry education will be considered for these positions.

Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered.

Problem-solving skills as a field supervisor, including management of multiple contractors, scopes and site locations at any given time.

Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the environmental consulting industry.

Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.

Must possess a valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s licence.

Site Supervisor / Intermediate Environmental Scientist

The ideal applicant will have:

Demonstrated experience undertaking contaminated site investigations, risk management and remediation projects.

Working with the Quality Management team to uphold quality standards and procedures

Ability to manage projects of significant complexity, and often with competing priorities.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Technologist diploma with relevant experience or similar bachelor degree.

10 years of experience, which will be a combination of technical and supervisory experience.

Demonstrated experience in environmental emergency response and incident command.

Demonstrable experience related to project management highly preferred.

Knowledge of the BCEnvironmental Management Act(EMA) andContaminated Sites Regulation(CSR) and federal environmental regulations, guidelines, and standards related to Contaminated Sites.

Experience supervising and training junior personnel.

Proven ability in data analysis / interpretation, report writing, verbal communication, and logical / critical thinking skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Willing to travel, ability to work in the field, and take on project management responsibilities

Plan, report and track schedules and budget, all as part of project financial management

Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to subsurface investigations and contaminated sites

Plan, manage, and implement field programs, evaluate collected information, prepare high-quality professional reports, and ensure quality assurance and quality control

Have ability to prioritize and manage deadlines and clients

Experience in sewage treatment field design and wastewater engineering design

·Field management skills are considered an asset

·Complete environmental assessments to identify environmental sensitivities and permitting requirements for projects

·Excellent writing and communication skills with a dedicated attention to technical quality

·Previous experience in Phase I and II environmental site assessments is considered an asset

·Aquatics or fisheries field experience is considered an asset

·Valid Standard First Aid CPR‐C, H2S Alive, and TDG certification at time of position start
