Intake Worker Jobs in Nova Scotia

Must have over six (6) months of experience in a Social Services setting;

Must have experience with the Microsoft Suite of Products;

Must be familiar with all facets of the social support services area including related community services;

The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a light level of work.

Knowledge of IWK and community resources (DCS, law enforcement, SANE, victim services) and skills in navigating systems.

Minimum of two (2) years related clinical experience, required.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in intake and/or client navigation, preferred.

Experience in child protection settings preferred.

Knowledge of Department of Community Services (DCS) processes preferred

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required or willingness to gain certification.

Completion of a related two (2) year diploma and nine (9) years of experience

A completed related Masters degree and five (5) years of related experience

Case management experience or recent related community experience

2+ years of recent experience in community health or a related field

Knowledge of the health care delivery system and community resources

Excellent interpersonal, communication, assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Experience working with diverse patient groups, e.g., multicultural, homeless, palliative, acquired brain injury (ABI), mental health, geriatrics, pediatrics
