Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (Metso)

Knowledge of PLC's is an asset

Minimum 5 years' experience in an Instrument Mechanic role

Industrial Instrument Mechanic Trade Certification

Install, configure, commission and repair control equipment and systems.

Inspect, maintain, diagnose, calibrate and repair control instruments.

Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the E&I management team.

Complete Covanta safety, compliance, and other required training / certification within the assigned timelines.

Perform maintenance and testing of low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, and power transformers.

Perform maintenance of higher voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine driven generators.

Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste air pollution control systems.

Trouble shoot, assess, inspect and adjust, and make repairs, as needed to the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and historian devices.

Operating room instrumentation experience essential

Recent work experience in a Hospital Medical Devices reprocessing department required (within the last two (2) years)

Applicants with previous Tech 1 work experience in MDRC at Sunnybrook will be given priority

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Prepares surgical case carts and delivers to the OR

Prepares and packages sterile instrumentation/supplies, ensuring all quality indicators are met

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

May maintain clinic, X-ray rooms and laboratory areas and performs other related duties.

Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own

Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.

Assists the Supervisor, MDR with timekeeping duties by entering information from work schedules into Meditech and forwarding to Payroll.

Participates in the maintenance of the procedure manuals by typing, cutting and pasting, photocopying, and filing new and/or revised procedures.

Creates and maintains computerized inventory of sterile supply instrumentation and tracks status of loaner instrumentation.

Maintains stationery and supply levels by monitoring stock, preparing order requisitions and storing supplies as required.

Answers the telephone, takes messages, answers routine enquiries and distributes mail.

A BC, AB or Inter-Provincial Instrumentation and Control Technician (Instrument Mechanic) trades qualification

DCS programming experience required (preferably ABB/Bailey)

Instrumentation job planning experience required

Supports programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces and Programmable Logic Controllers.

Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.

Provide Instrumentation support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.

Use pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation and diagnose.

Repair, maintain and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.

Journeyperson or Instrumentation Certificate or an Apprentice Instrumentation card.

Previous electrical maintenance experience working within the Industrial Oil & Gas sector

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
