Instructor – Communication Studies Jobs

Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and work to deadlines under pressure.

Maintains class averages at optimal levels with support of the CLASS student management system by forecasting numbers.

Effectively support the teachers with classroom management and student behaviour (with the support of the GHoA).

May be asked to deputise for the GHoA and other Academic Managers/Coordinators in their absence as necessary.

Gain an understanding of accreditation requirements and assist when necessary for standardisation across all centres.

Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory, managerial or leadership role

Engage learners in the co-creation of knowledge through teaching and learning upgrading courses based on Alberta Education high school curriculum.

Communicate with faculty and management as needed.

Experience teaching Alberta Education courses considered an asset.

Demonstrated experience and training in adult education considered an asset.

Experience with educational technologies considered an asset.

Skills in sharing and exchanging knowledge online in motivating and engaging ways.

Experience in database management, KPI development and management, and project management.

Bachelor's degree or a master's degree in engineering, mining engineering, project management, or a related field.

Managerial skills and systematic analysis approach for problem solving.

Minimum of 15 years of relevant Global experience, including at least 5 years of managing personnel and multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience in estimating and scheduling, using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Graduate education and/or work experience in adult education would be an asset

Good computer skills and experience teaching technology-enhanced courses are required

Stay abreast of emerging pedagogical issues and educational technologies

Minimum of 3 years’ post-secondary teaching experience in a relevant discipline

Subject-matter expertise in both written and verbal communication, presentations, teamwork, job search packages, networking, interpersonal skills

Prepare in-class and study materials for learners

Graduate education and/or work experience in adult education would be an asset
