Industrial Designer Intermediate Jobs in Alberta

3+ years’ experience with designing products, including design for manufacturing. Lighting industry experience preferred.

Attention to detail – especially when interpreting project requirements, as well as technical and architectural drawings.

Experience with rapid prototyping and other mechanical tasks.

Understanding of electrical components and technology. Knowledge of lighting is a very strong asset.

Ability to adjust to changing project requirements in a fast-paced work environment.

Conceptualize and design new lighting products to expand upon Edison’s portfolio

There will be other reasonable activities required by management.

Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong interpersonal skills.

Review and interpret specifications adapting our modular systems to the requirements.

Work with the sales team, project managers, Engineers, Architects, and designers.

Experience designing commercial spaces is an asset.

Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D software.

·Effective Time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

·Design studio focus on projects and project management

·Primary point of contact with client/project manager

·A recognized qualification in Architecture (typically BArch or MArch)

Prepare storm water management quantity and quality calculations.

Prepare Functional Servicing and Storm water Management Reports in support of Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Application.

Knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the detailed design of municipal infrastructure for either public or private sector clients.

Knowledgeable of tender preparation with limited construction administration experience.

Knowledgeable of technical design issues, constructability, cost, and design approvals.

Experience with design coordination and leading small teams in delivering design packages under supervision of the project architect

Minimum 5 years of experience in an architectural firm (strong co-op experience also considered)

Highly organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in transit station design will be considered an asset

Interest and experience in urban design is an asset

Experience using CAD design software and product data management tools (i.e. SolidWorks®, PDM)

Experience using product lifecycle management tools (i.e. Oracle Agile)

Experience and knowledge of mid to high volume mechanical part manufacturing processes and methods (i.e. injection moulding, extrusions, die casting, etc.)

5+ years of Industrial Design Product Development experience with portfolio

Graphic design experience – product graphics, packaging, icons

Experience using Adobe Illustrator software or similar
