Cleaning experience in a commercial establishment

Perform all light duty cleaning, project cleaning, general cleaning and keep cleaning equipment clean and in good repair all the time.

Clean washrooms including toilets, urinals, washbasins, vanities, replenishes toiletry, body soap, remove garbage from various areas and dispose into the bin.

Ensure the safety of all participants, property and self by following established Workplace Health and Safety practices and procedures.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, including days, evenings and weekend

Provides support per the Emergency Response Plan as directed by the Overnight Duty Manager and/or Senior Leader on-site

Has effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)

Experience with the following equipment an asset, carpet cleaner, wet/dry vacuum, extractor, varnisher, and floor cleaners

Responds to guest requests in an empathetic and timely manner

Ensures communication of maintenance issues in a timely manner

Two years’ custodial/janitorial experience preferred.

Experience in a secure residential setting would be considered an asset.

Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment and safety.

Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, scrub garbage collection and disposal.

Clean and disinfect washroom and fixtures.

Use machine to clean floors in the corridors and the main kitchen.

Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
