Previous field experience in geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental investigation projects a strong asset.

Working knowledge with soil classification, principles of soil mechanics and groundwater properties an asset.

Strong note taking and organizational skills.

Responsible for conducting various geotechnical, hydrogeological and/or environmental field investigation projects including:

Organize and carry out borehole layout, surveying and utility locates

Experience in the geotechnical field of engineering

Work independently under the Branch Manager

4-5 years experience in a similar field

2+ years' experience as a Data Specialist or similar role.

Experience with Microsoft Azure solutions including Delta/Data Lakes, Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, IoT Hub, Functions, Apache Spark, LogicApps, and Powershell.

Experience designing and building databases (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL.)

Knowledge of multiple programming languages (e.g. Python, Scala, SQL, Javascript.)

Experience building distributed systems meant to process batch and streaming data.

Intern to Fulltime conversion based on Performance.

Clearing an interview session and assessment test.

Should be comfortable for onsite setting (Surrey, BC)

Here's what you need to know!

Minimum of 2+ years of experience with business glossary andmetadata management tools(e.g. EDC, Collibra, IBM IGC), data quality tools(Informatica DQ, Ataccama)

Certified Data Management Professional from Dama International

Minimum 3years of experience indata governance, including measuring/monitoring data quality, and recommending improvements in data

Expertise in data governance and data quality experience using industry standard tools.

Experience with Data Warehousing (SnowFlake), Data Lakes and SQL databases preferred.

Experience of data streaming using AWS Kinesis and Kafka

·Relationship-building and influencing skills, and the ability to effectively manage through change and growth.

·Strongorganizational skills,able to take initiative, manage deadlines and work well independently and within a team.

·Time management is up to the contractor; all work should be completed by August 31, 2023.

TheData Specialist’s responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

·A hands-on self-starter who exhibits a proactive mindset with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

·Experience connecting withstakeholdergroups,and ability to build rapport and credibility with staff and volunteers.

Experience in landslide, or geohazard related fields a benefit;

Demonstrated industry experience with ILI IMU;

Beneficial to have a working knowledge of:

Ground monitoring technologies such as surveys, slope inclinometers, and remote-sending instrumentation (SAA, GNSS);

Working knowledge of industry best practices, codes, standards and regulations in Canada and USA;

Demonstrate critical analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills;
