Minimum 5 years of recent management experience in a locomotive environment

Work with Senior Management to ensure successful operations of department.

Works collaboratively with Human Resources on employee and labour relations matter including investigations, discipline, attendance, conduct and performance management.

Manage internal and external locomotive overhauls including overseeing work processes.

Manage direct supervisors and their direct reports.

Support supervisors with training requirements and instruction for unionized staff

Certificate of Qualification as Electrician (Construction 309A or Industrial 442A) or within final year of apprenticeship in the same identified trade

Experience working within a unionized environment

Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)

Excellent organizational and planning skills

Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and has demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious manner

Good working knowledge of computers an asset

5+ years in a facilities management, industrial shop maintenance, or operations environment with direct involvement in the maintenance practices or experience

Experience with maintenance management tasks, including continuous improvement of maintenance practices, asset performance monitoring, and establishment of maintenance strategies

Solid foundation of knowledge in asset management principals, including the role of maintenance and work management as part

Raise issues and support decisions related to deferred maintenance or management of maintenance backlogs

Participate in the development and update of Asset Management Plans and Capital Plan submissions when requested

Lead the Identification, development, and updates to asset performance measures and conducts any asset management benchmarking activities
