Facilities Maintenance And Repair Person Jobs

Complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching and painting.

Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled or as needed basis.

Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.

Refurbish furniture and fixtures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds without assistance and maximum of 140 pounds with assistance.

Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods, often for a minimum of 2 hours at a time.

Technical skills in modern building maintenance and repair techniques.

Related training, knowledge and understanding in arena refrigeration process, cemeteries, parks, pools, forestry an asset

Experience operating equipment; trucks, tractors with attachments, and front end loaders.

Experience operating power tools and hand tools.

Perform general maintenance and repairs of arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, community centres and other municipal administration facilities

Follow generally accepted maintenance and repair standards, administrative policies and practices and the County’s program of preventative maintenance

Over two years’ experience, to become familiar with scope of the position.

To maintain buildings and associated equipment in good repair and in attractive, clean condition for public service

Perform general maintenance and repairs of arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, community centres and other municipal administration facilities

Follow generally accepted maintenance and repair standards, administrative policies and practices and the County’s program of preventative maintenance

Provide assistance in the moving, relocation and set up of administrative office equipment and supplies as required by other departments

Assist with the operations of the cemeteries, ensuring compliance with municipal and/or provincial policies, procedures, by-laws

Over two years’ experience, to become familiar with scope of the position.

5 years of experience in facilities management, including experience supervising employees and overseeing third-party contractors

Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Experience with building and property management

Compliance and ownership of the site contractor management program

Post-secondary education, preferably in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business or Operations Management or a related Supply Chain Management program;

8-10 years of pertinent facility management experience with a proven track record;

· Direct environmental activities, recycling, and energy management, and ensure compliance with government regulations

PMP certification considered an asset;

Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze results and respond effectively and efficiently;

Very strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills;
