Draft briefing notes to be used by the Minister of Finance on issues pertaining to our regulated industries.

You will interact with various regulators across Canada including the federal regulator, on matters affecting the various industries we regulate,

Assist the VP in her role as Superintendent, to prepare for biannual meetings of the national insurance and pension regulator groups,

On occasion you maybe asked to represent the Commission at provincial, regional or national meetings and working committees of various regulators.

Mathematical skills including basic math problems and higher-level skills of financial management like budgeting and forecasting.

Assist with incident responses and case management.

Champion the creation of risk assessments/PPE requirements.

Organize regular Safety Audits for compliance to OH&S and internal requirements.

Organize the training in skilled operations (industrial equipment operation, confined space).

3 – 5 years+ experience in industrial setting required and leading Safety and Environmental Programs.

Abilities to interface with Stakeholder Information Management software and processes, including analyzing data, communicating information, and reporting on client stakeholder engagement.

Knowledge and direct experience in engaging with Indigenous communities, including Indigenous history and rights, cultural protocols and norms, and Indigenous politics.

Knowledge of or experience in project development and community engagement.

A minimum of 2+ years relevant work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement or related experience in resource development.

Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on working well within multi-disciplinary teams.

Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a constantly changing environment.

Develop and revise procedures, measurement methods and other documents pertaining to environmental management;

Participate in the implementation of preventive and corrective actions for the environmental management system;

Perform internal audits on ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified management system procedures;

Participate in improving the facility’s environmental management;

Familiarity with environmental standards management and legislation.

Make recommendations following inspections to comply with both external regulations and internal requirements;

Collaborating with environmental, socioeconomic, and health consultants to prepare the project's Emergency Support Group (ESHIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).

Developing, coordinating functional endorsement, and implementing the project's Regulatory Compliance Plan and Environmental Management Plan.

University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience with audit mandates related to regulatory financial information, an asset

Lead the project and coordinate the preparation of work in line with OSFI’s assurance expectations over capital, leverage and liquidity returns

Help establish the schedule of deliverables, ensure regular and thorough follow-ups on the progress of objectives and contribute to their achievement

2-4 years relevant work experience providing support in environmental planning, approvals, assessments and environmental performance management preferred;

Experience with field work and overseeing management of environmental studies;

Experience with project management and coordination of environmental monitoring sampling program;

Support the DNNP (Darlington New Nuclear Project) by providing excellent project management and communication between multiple teams;

Strong verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate effectively across the company and externally at all levels;

Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills, and attention to detail;

Previous Industry Experience Is Considered Beneficial, But Not Essential

Eligibility to work in Canada

• Experience in the application of Provincial and Federal regulations as they apply to operational facilities

• Experience in developing procedures, presentations, and other reference materials

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

• Support the field execution of key environmental monitoring activities (groundwater sampling, stack surveys, field inspections)

• Attend to spills, wildlife, and other environmental concerns

• Assist with the development and rollout of environmental awareness and training programs

Provide support to the management system programs to ensure regulatory requirements and compliance activities support pipeline operations.

Degree, certification, diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Economics, Environmental Science or other related disciplines.

Extensive knowledge of the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) requirements and processes.

Manage, track, resolve, and closeout regulatory compliance verification activities (e.g. audits) and coordinate compliance filings in a timely and accurate manner.

Effectively and efficiently manage regulatory applications, filings or submissions relating to operation activities.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory roles or equivalent.
