Responsible for securing and assigning student teacher field experience placements that fit students' specific degree and teacher certification requirements

Works closely with other field experiences staff in recruiting teachers to participate in the field experiences program as a Mentor Teacher

Provides statistical report information regarding placements to senior Faculty of Education administrative staff

Supports the maintenance of the Field Experiences web site

Experience in a post-secondary environment, particularly with placement of students in experiential learning environments, is an asset

Ability to effectively organize priorities, manage time, problem solve and work independently as well as part of a team

Present knowledge transfer by supporting preplacement course requirements

Advise students on placement requirements and outcomes.

Mental Health First Aid or experience with the Mental Health field is an asset.

Knowledge of software programs such as Prezi, Camtasia, Audacity are also an asset.

A minimum of three years of practical related experience in the designated field of placement, ideally serving a multi-diverse, multi-cultural community.

Organize, facilitate and oversee the overall field placement process.

Demonstrated three (3) years of experience training/teaching adults in career management and employment facilitation and one-to-one counseling.

Knowledge of employment search techniques, career management competencies, training needs analysis, and one-to-one counselling techniques.

Meet job placement and internship targets as defined by Management.

Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, Business, or Career Development.

Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience in recruitment (proven experience with placements), and or business development.

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

Knowledge of barriers to employment, including those experienced by persons with mental illness and persons who are homeless/at risk of homelessness.

Be flexible and supportive of the needs and abilities of the people served.

Post-secondary education from an accredited educational institution required.

Experience in supporting vulnerable people.

Experience in career services, recruitment, job development or similar role considered an asset.

Sales and cold-calling experience with the ability to build a positive rapport with the business community.

Good systems knowledge, technical skills and some experience working with external providers;

Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs, Internet and web site management is required.

Demonstrated experience working in a higher education student services setting, specifically Career Services and with Career Services systems;

Knowledge of the Career Development Cycle and Career Education, theories and practice

Minimum 2 years’ experience providing technical support in a busy environment to clients of diverse backgrounds.

Experience providing employment preparation support to students/clients

Four (4) year degree or equivalent

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgment, work with interruptions, and resolve conflicts

Post-secondary education in Human/Social Services, Education, Human Resources, Psychology or a related field

Experience providing employment-related services to internationally trained professionals or individuals experiencing career changes

Demonstrated three (3) years of experience training/teaching individuals in career management and employment facilitation and one to one counseling.

Knowledge of employment search techniques, career management competencies, training needs analysis, and one-to-one counseling techniques.
