Excellent organizational, written and oral communication and computer skills using Word, Excel, internet and e-mail

Provide excellent customer service by helping youth clarify needs and determine actions/solutions through assessment, case management, and counselling

Possess current working knowledge of employment-related issues and learning approaches to support youth with developing job readiness skills

Strong customer service skills and experience taking initiative; demonstrated problem-solving and decision making skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience with writing reports to agency standards

Have knowledge of current local labour market trends, community services, and resources across the City of Toronto

An understanding of barriers to employment success and knowledge of current local labor market trends, community services and resources

Knowledge of barriers to employment, including those experienced by persons with mental illness and persons who are homeless/at risk of homelessness.

Be flexible and supportive of the needs and abilities of the people served

Post-secondary education from an accredited educational institution required

Experience in supporting vulnerable people

Experience in career services, recruitment, job development or similar role considered an asset

Sales and cold-calling experience with the ability to build a positive rapport with the business community.

Excellent knowledge of disabilities, injuries and labour market information.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience working with clients with a range of physical, neurological, cognitive, and mental health disabilities.

In collaboration with the client establishes clear expected responsibilities and accountability;

Providing Job Searching strategies including Resume and Cover Letter, interviewing skills, LMI, hidden Job Market;

At least 2 year directly related to Resume and Cover Letter preparation, Job Search Skills and Individualized Job Placement.

Demonstrated foundational knowledge of skilled trades occupations and the trades equivalency assessment process

Case manage and monitor mentoring relationships to ensure mentee/mentor goals are met

Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background, career goals etc. using Employment Intake Assessment tool

Assist clients in identifying training opportunities to develop job search skills and job search strategies

Assess need for additional assistance such as financial aid and/or further vocational training/skills upgrading and make appropriate referrals

Experience working, training or coaching adults in a technical trade is an asset

Well-developed time management, organization and teamwork skills

Case management services to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery

Minimum of three years’ experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation with people with disabilities

Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience

Provide employment services to adults who have disabilities and employment barriers

Assist individuals with disabilities to identify realistic employment options through vocational testing, assessment and exploration

Well-developed time management, organization, and teamwork skills

Appropriate use of case management/IT systems i.e., CaMS

Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience

Provide services to individuals with disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers

Deliver program accommodating individual learning styles and abilities

Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research

Experience with group facilitation, counselling, case management activities

Good time management, information tracking, and prioritization skills

Provide wrap-around care management support in collaboration with YSM staff to participants and maintaining customized training support plans

Related post-secondary education in social work/community service work/adult education or equivalent experience

Develop and deliver skill-based learning content for pre-employment training workshops to support participants in capacity building and job retention

Document participant activity in YSM database and paper files in accordance with YSM and funder requirements
