High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant communications centre - OR-
Must complete National Academy of Emergency Dispatch (NAED) Emergency Fire Dispatcher (EFD) certification within one (1) year of the start date
Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of the City of Edmonton streets, roads, major routes, and commonplace locations
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and problem-solving skills with familiarity with fire operational and medical terminology
Represent the City of Edmonton in a professional and respectful manner
Receive, evaluate and prioritize emergency calls using strict fire protocols and deploy the appropriate resources
