Embedded System Engineer Jobs

In-depth experience with Microchip, AMD/Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA devices and a deep knowledge of Verilog or VHDL languages.

Embedded processor experience with knowledge of C, and software debug tools such as Keil, IAR or Eclipse.

Experience with Libero, Vivado or Quartus Design Software, as well as EDA tools for FPGA design is required.

8 years relevant work experience, including embedded hardware, software, and development tools

Direct client interfacing and support experience a plus

Must have strong communication, presentation and organizational skills

+5 years of experience in Embedded SW Dev (C/C++)

Experienced with SPI, CAN, XCP + ISO 26262/ ASPICE

Knowledge in traceability and documentation

Static analysis : Polyspace or equivalent

Support customer management teams in resolving field-found problems

Experience in C/C++ in an x86 embedded processor environment using collaborative s/w development tools

Experience with Linux OS and x86 BIOS/UEFI would be an asset

2 years of related and recent industry experience

Knowledge of assembly language programming is desirable

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable and confident explaining problems to both h/w and s/w teams

Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Embedded Platforms: Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, AVR, PIC) and embedded development boards (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino).

Communication Protocols: Strong understanding and practical experience with communication protocols commonly used in embedded systems.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.

Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.

Hardware Integration: Work closely with the hardware engineering team to integrate and optimize embedded systems with custom-designed electronics and sensors.

Supporting Engineering Design Manager in developing the skills of the design and test team, and liaising with customers to define specifications.

Meeting requirements of the product development process - delivering to deadlines.

Full software development cycle experience

Design and development of firmware for new products

Supporting Design Engineers in development of the product designs.

Embedded/firmware design and development in C or C++

-3-5 years embedded testing experience

-Experience with C# programming and Visual Studio

-Experience working within the photonics industry - testing photonics integrated chips

-Some hardware testing experience in lab

- Knowledge on optical networking, lasers and fiber optics

-Comfortable with some tools such as optical spectrum, source measures, fiber loss measures, RF measurements, etc

Has strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication, priority management, planning and team mobilization skills;

Has knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards for RF technologies, such as FCC regulations.

Participate in the planning, execution and qualification of designs within the project team;

Is an excellent problem-solving with troubleshooting abilities and a keen attention to details;

Has experience with RF simulation and design tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink or ADS;

Has strong programming skills in C/C++ and is familiar with embedded software development;
