Overview Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They must be able to read blueprints, follow state and local building regulations, and understand the National Electrical Code. Detailed Job Description Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They must be able to read blueprints, follow state and local building regulations, and understand the National Electrical Code. Electricians must be able to identify and troubleshoot problems with electrical systems, and make repairs as needed. They must also be able to install and maintain wiring systems, circuit breakers, and other electrical components. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components
• Ability to read blueprints and follow state and local building regulations
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
• Ability to install and maintain wiring systems, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols
• Good communication and customer service skills
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training program
• Valid driver’s license
• State or local electrician’s license
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Knowledge of hand and power tools
Job Experience
• Previous experience as an electrician
• Previous experience in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work
Job Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Read blueprints and follow state and local building regulations
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
