Deliver exemplary housekeeping services within resident suites, amenity spaces and common/administrative areas

An integral part of the service team, supporting the provision of a quality living environment for seniors

Responsible for completing a variety of housekeeping, laundry and/or food service functions

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the intent and philosophy of complex care when planning and delivering hospitality services

Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills

To participate as a key member of the home's Care Teams, such as Skin/Wound Care, Bowel Management and Dysphagia Management teams;

Must be knowledgeable of Provincial Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA Accreditation Canada, Provincial/Health Authority regulatory requirements, and Residents' Bill of Rights

To provide nutrition/dietary in-service education for Dietary and Nursing staff and other interdisciplinary team members as required;

To collaborate with the Nutrition Manager and advise Administration on Resident nutrition care, considering resident's language, religious, culture and nutrient needs;

1-2 years of experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset

Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills

Maintains excellent communication with the Food Service Manager regarding the changing needs of the residents

Extensive knowledge of geriatric nutrition

3-5 years experience in long-term care setting preferred

Proficiency with computer applications, Microsoft Office, and the internet. Experience with RAI MDS 2.0 desirable, familiarity with software PointClickCare an asset

Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation.

Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.

At least 6 months of experience as a waiter/waitress in a dining environment

Performs meal service as required relating to beverage and meal service, plating of food, clearing and cleaning of dining rooms etc.

Assists residents with menu selection as required and serves food and beverages to residents in designated areas

Responsible for the setting, clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing of resident dining and service areas

Collects and strips trays for dish washing

Conveys residents’ complaints to Dietary Supervisor

Provides staff in-service education on nutrition related topics (eg. dysphagia)’

University degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field of study. Two (2) years recent related experience an asset.

Participate in weekly care conferences.

Performs swallowing assessments and makes recommendations on diet textures, feeding techniques and safety precautions.

Counsels residents and family members on therapeutic diets, and other nutritional

Prescribes dietary supplements as appropriate (eg. Weight loss, wounds), and monitors their effectiveness and use.

Knowledge of principals and practical application of applied nutrition and how to apply them in an adult population

Up to date certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator

Demonstrated clinical and critical evaluation skills

Previous ambulatory, and consultation experience a definitive asset

Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

Baccalaureate degree in Applied Human nutrition or Baccalaureate of Science (Masters Preparation preferred) and successful completion of dietetic internship

Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C; and

Licence from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice.

You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level

Minimum of 2 years’ experience dealing with the public face to face

Strong Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Word and Excel

Strong book keeping acumen, previous book keeping experience preferred
