High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification, or Registered Early Childhood Educator

Must meet province requirement for childcare employment

A diploma, certificate or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution;

Recent experience (within past 5 years) working with pre-school children;

Assuming an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff,

Child Development Assistant (CDA), Child Development Work (CDW) or Child Development Supervisor (CDS) Certification

Maintain professional regard for the importance and dignity of their work as evidenced by their conduct, attitude, and appearance,

Bachelor of Education or a Valid BC Child Care Licence (ECE)/ (ECEA)

A degree from a Canadian accredited institution in Education or related field is an asset.

CPR and First Aid Certification.

Plan and implement enriched programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.

Work integrally with KEY educators to evaluate, revise and recommend improvements of the current curriculum and learning resources.

Lead children through 2-hour lessons that may be academic or social/emotional classes using our curriculum.

Knowledge and experience with FLIGHT: Albertas Early Learning and Care Framework is considered an asset

Strong knowledge of child development theories, best practices, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and equity in early childhood education settings.

Post secondary education specific to early childhood development
