TSYO Manager and Community Assistant (Education & Community Education Department)

Manages long-term planning for TSYO, including overseeing TSYO Conductor and Coach succession planning and program development.

Establishes and enforces expectations for TSYO musicians around artistic, scheduling, attendance, and social media responsibilities.

Minimum of 2 years experience in orchestra administration, or a closely related field

Significant background or training in music is essential. Knowledge of orchestral music is an asset.

Experience working with youth and/or young emerging artists.

Preferred formal education (Diploma or Degree, CSW, RCA, SIVA etc.) and/or work experience with persons with diverse-abilities and/or other relevant experience.

Apply crisis intervention and risk management strategies.

Excellent interpersonal behavior and communication skills

The desire and ability to work with persons with diverse-abilities and demonstrate personal suitability to promote dignity, independence, individuality.

Must be in good health with the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and shift responsibilities.

Provide mentoring and support when working directly and relationally with high-risk, vulnerable Individuals.

Demonstrated understanding of case management principles, including person-centred, strengths-based practices and trauma-informed approaches;

Relevant tertiary qualification in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Social Work, Community Services, or Psychology;

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and high computer literacy.

Part-Time - 12 Month Contract

$ 47.50 - $ 49.65 per hour + Superannuation + NFP Salary Packaging

An understanding of Youth Justice, homelessness services and the community services sector;

Supports programs that develop health, fitness, sports, arts, culture, social skills and relationships

A current and valid Food Safe Level 1 certification is an asset

Focuses on systemic planning and strategies that connect youth to the community centre and the broader community.

Builds partnerships with service providers and Indigenous service providers

Initiates, participates and provides leadership in the youth service hubs.

Regularly reports on current youth programs, services and issues.
