Provides basic health-promotion information to clients such as crisis counselling/prevention/intervention around issues such as violence, loss/grief, harm reduction.

Attends meetings and participates in patient care planning and co-ordination.

A self-starter with strong leadership qualities and project/task management skills who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

Proficient with content management and collaboration tools (including JIra, Confluence, and community platform software)

Extensive knowledge of advocacy in the global Agri-Food sector.

Experience working in the women’s, youth’s, and rural community or social impact sector.

Experience as the administrator of an online work platform and/or online community of practice platforms.

Familiar with the software development lifecycle (including familiarity with basic software testing and user experience concepts).

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the barriers and opportunities experienced by young Indigenous entrepreneurs and Indigenous-led and Indigenous-focused community organizations

3 years of experience in sales, start-up business development or economic development position

Experience working with entrepreneurs or business start-ups, business plans and cashflows is considered a strong asset

Provide educational tools and resources to support community partners and allies.

Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.

Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Attend virtual or in person community events pertaining to inclusion and diversity for learning and outreach purposes.

Coordinate, plan, implement, and evaluate advocacy strategy related programs, projects, and initiatives.

Create and distribute communications to community partners, advocacy Volunteers and staff across CNIB.

Assist the Executive Director and Conservation Manager with briefing notes as needed.

Knowledge of Yukon and Transboundary First Nations and Inuvialiut people and history is helpful for this position.

Strong presentation and messaging skills to decision makers and the public.

Reporting to the Outreach Manager, the Community Outreach Coordinator’s major duties are:

Support First Nations communities with community and/or co-organized events, on-the-land trips, and other projects as needed.

·Demonstrated events planning knowledge and experience.

·Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required.

·Prepares written and verbal outreach reports for Arts Commission and Arts Advisory Council, as necessary.

·Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.

·Performs other related duties as required.

·Understanding of community development strategies which engage stakeholders at various levels of participation.

Minimum of one year (post BSW) clinical experience in Mental Health & Addictions

Screening and risk assessment skills, including Suicide Risk Assessment

High degree of independent practice, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to implement an evidenced based plan of care

Ability to navigate and de-escalate situations and offer crisis support

Ability to use motivational interviewing skills and engage with clients/families

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
