Clinical And Surgical Assistant Jobs

Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience OR a combination of equivalent education, training, and experience

Well-developed abilities and skills in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies

Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills

Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program

The incumbent maintains an awareness of internal and external issues that may impact on the department/organization

Works effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks

You are a team player with excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills

Completion of a recognized personal support worker certificate or health care aide program from a community college or equivalent education

Previous long term care experience (required)

Previous related experience, preferably in an acute care, rehab, and/or palliative or previous hospital experience (preferred)

Knowledge of universal precautions and medical terminology an asset

Strong customer service, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness

Current Basic Life Support Certification

Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent Full-time (100% FTE); 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Detailed And Main Responsibilities

To support the planning and organising of the Clinical Effectiveness/NAG/Audit/ Mortality Team by::

Booking video conference facilities, room hire, equipment, travel and accommodation

Preparation of papers, agendas and presentations

Communication and engagement with colleagues across the Health Board to ensure attendance as required

Participate in meetings and effectively take formal minutes/action notes on a regular basis.

Formal project management education and certification an asset.

Strong organizational skills and experience in project management; ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Ability to apply people change management and transformation techniques and practices.

"Loan Forgiveness Programs" offered through the Federal and BC Government for eligible professions.

Strong documentation skills and demonstrated ability to develop detailed clinical or technical documentation, training aides and how-to documents.

Continuing education course in area of interest is an asset

Maintains current certification in CPR

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy

Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Management experience will be an asset;

Participates in coordination meetings with the management team;

Prepare reports and presentations for the management team or external partners;

Experience in a remote region, more specifically in Nunavik, a major asset;

Experience in Public Health will be a major asset;

Excellent communication skills and positive leadership;

Communicates with patients, families, referring and family physicians concerning patient management plans.

Interacts with and orientates clinical clerks and PGY1’s, new to the Neurosurgery Service.

Participates in on-call responsibilities of the service.

Stocking and sanitizing examination rooms and medical laboratory

Using EMR for scheduling appointments and filing
