Preparing reports and presentations to show progress on the projects you manage

Fostering climate engagement across business units by mobilizing knowledge, commitment, and action.

2 to 5 years of corporate working experience focusing on climate change, and/or sustainability required

Strong research, and communication (oral, written and presentation) skills

Understanding of P&C insurance and/or the finance sector is considered an asset

Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Experience with Data Management standards relevant to ensuring data integrity;

Drafts communication materials and presentations for diverse stakeholder groups, including senior management, on EDC’s climate data initiatives.

Experience with the measurement of financed emissions aligned with PCAF and tracking progress against science-based targets (i.e. SBTI or PACTA);

Liaises with internal data engineering teams and external consultants to ensure alignment with EDC’s business requirements on climate data;

Experience of TCFD and relevant climate change reporting frameworks;

Experience with international organizations such as the IFC, WB, OECD and/or the UN;

Strong organizational and management skills with past experiences implementing best practices and processes

Translate product management, engineering, and business constraints and queries into tractable data science questions

6+ years relevant experience related to climate change strategy development.

Knowledge of wholesale and retail credit risk rating systems with experience in parameter estimation, portfolio management, or risk appetite.

Experience developing presentations, visualizations and dashboards for senior executives and an interest in developing advanced analytical capabilities

Researching technical methodologies for calculating E&S Risk metrics and targets – e.g. financed emissions, net-zero targets

Knowledge or familiarity with the climate risk and/or target setting guidance issued by PCAF, NZBA, TCFD, ISSB, and/or OSFI (B-15)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Using Python and SQL to calculate E&S Risk metrics

Researching technical methodologies for calculating E&S Risk metrics and targets – e.g., financed emissions, net-zero targets.

Using Python and SQL to calculate E&S Risk metrics.

Perform QA, write documentation, and develop production-ready code to implement the above.

At least 2 years of experience as a Policy Analyst supporting topics of climate change, environmental research, coordination, and program delivery.

Past co-op or summer work term experience in the engineering or construction industry strongly desired;

Knowledge and experience in climate change adaptation, sustainable development, and asset management.

Strong project management experience is required.

Serve as a member of the Asset Management Working Group to inform and champion projects in decarbonization, mitigation, and adaptation efforts.

Design methodologies to enhance best practices in risk modelling and climate analytics by incorporating RTAI data infrastructure

Analysis of climate datasets to establish constraints, mechanistic connections, or sensitivity of target quantities to sources of variability (natural or forced)

Bachelor degree in areas of business, environmental science, engineering or supply chain management with a preferred 1-3 years of experience

Experience with organizing and performing data analysis and quality control on large and complex data sets

Experience developing and working with GHG inventories and their supporting data, water footprints and/or life-cycle assessments a plus

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Power BI (or similar tool). Experience with statistical and analytical software a plus.
