Climate Communications Coordinator Jobs

Coordinates communications for the Climate Action Plan Steering Group, including coordinating meetings and reporting requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Well-developed analytical and organizational skills.

Proven experience in consensus building, and session facilitation.

Experience with all social and digital media systems, tools and platforms.

Coordinates meetings for CAP Steering Group, as well as CAP Working Groups.

Facilities consultation exercises for working groups and helps teams develop action plans.

Knowledgeable in project management methodologies and able to provide day-to-day oversight of external consultants/contractors/stakeholders and execute projects;

A strong communicator with excellent facilitation and leadership skills;

Resourceful with strong research and writing skills;

Supporting CVRD corporate climate action initiatives in relation to achieving carbon neutrality and GHG reduction targets;

Updating, monitoring and implementing the Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) and the annual corporate energy emissions inventory;

Collaborating with internal staff from a variety of departments to develop and implement work plans related to CEEP initiatives;

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Managing and/or participating in proposal writing and submission processes: providing administrative content, while delegating scientific content to faculty and fellows

Directing and coordinating communications and information exchange between the Collective, the UBC community, and the public nationally and internationally, via:

Identifying and implementing effective approaches for coordinating communications between climate researchers across the two UBC campuses

Developing content for website and social media, including stories about Collective workshops, seminars, and people (including the Solutions Scholars)

Coordinating with communications and public relations teams across participating faculties and departments

● Some social media posting and community management

● Strong research and writing skills; experience writing for a variety of channels

● Proven experience in a communications role
