Business Development Executive Air Freight Jobs

Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve targets and meet objectives.

Lead and manage a team of air freight professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure effective performance and development.

Several years of experience in air freight forwarding, with a proven track record of leadership and driving business growth.

Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ideally post-secondary education and Management experience

Participate as a member of the Senior Management team for the Country Strategy

Sets, communicates and follows KPIs to ensure constant improvement of capacity management

In depth knowledge of forwarding business, with specific experience in Air Freight

Manager and drive the performance of the AFR Product team

Takes ownership of Air Freight P&L and works closely with Country finance teams to ensure budgets and forecasts are met

3–5 years of related experience in Accounting or Finance is required, with experience in freight or transportation preferred  

University graduate with a focus in Business, Logistics, Finance or related field.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner

Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail

Manage opportunity pipeline (actual data and stages, right size)

Require 10 years of relevant sales experience; understands and anticipates customer needs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Drive the field sales volume growth in the branch office for the air freight products

Coordinate local RFQ and spot quote requests with Branch Air Sales Support teams

Plan and execute sales visits to both existing and prospect customers

Assist the department manager with the preparation of the departmental budget and ensure it is followed.

Manage conflicts in an innovative manner.

Level 1: 5-10 years’ experience in the industry and 1-2 years’ experience in supervision.

Level 2: More than 10 years of experience in the industry and 5 years’ experience in supervision.

Plan, organize and distribute the workload to team members.

Communicate, in a timely manner, the relevant information and issues to the immediate supervisor.

Coordinate all Air Import/Export Freight activities, including quotation, booking, documentation, data entry, Shipment tracking and tracing, billing, arranging deliveries

Comply with all Canada customs, IATA and Transport Canada regulations and requirements

Excellent communication with the English language skills both verbal and written

Skillsets required for the role:

Communicate daily with airlines, vendors, truckers, customers, warehouse contact, sales representatives and overseas offices.

Must be authorized to work in Canada and reside in Ontario.
