Job Title: Technologist, Food Processing – Electrical Automation

Department: School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts

Act as project manager for automation projects.

Five to ten years of relevant experience.

Support the plant operations by acting as a technical expert in automation.

Act as electrical technical expert for the internal and external projects, by approving electrical plans and procedures.

Define and ensure the maintenance of standards in control and automation.

University degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent diploma (member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).

Project management including cost and schedule tracking/reporting, stakeholder engagement and coordination of internal and external resources

Utilize and support Management of Change (MOC) processes

5 to 15 years of upstream oil & gas or relevant industry engineering experience

2+ years’ of experience with the design of instrumentation systems including pressure, level, flow, temperature and toxic gas measurement

2+ years’ of experience with the design of power distribution systems, utility and power generation, variable frequency drives and starters

Knowledge of EI&C systems engineering design, construction and testing documentation and project deliverables

Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental and Energy legislative/regulatory requirements

Educational courses in engineering with related coursework using industry software, principles and technology preferred.

Experience with any programming languages like C++, java, Python, .Net

Knowledge of MS Office, PI, SAP and Ariba.

Supports the plant on searching and keeping abreast about new technologies and equipment.

Organize, document, and present technical design reviews and project management overviews with minimal assistance

Hands on electric/electronic installation, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience

Minimum 4 years previous experience in a custom automated equipment builder work environment

Good working knowledge of hardware/software interfacing

Manufacturing experience is a strong asset

Strong team player and excellent people skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
