Associate – Structured Finance Ratings – Abs Jobs

Project management skills; Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressure.

2+ years of full-time relevant work experience in capital markets, quantitative finance, or credit analysis/research.

Actively manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors. Effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures. Participate in client meetings.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis by helping to resolve clients’ analytical questions.

Strong interest in finance, quantitative, and legal discipline.

Strong proficiency with Excel, and experience with financial models and financial data.

Strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts, as well economic concepts.

Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills.

Background in corporate credit analysis and/or knowledge of insurance industry is a plus, but not required

Solid communication skills, verbal and written

More than 3 years working in a financial industry setting

MBA and/or CFA is a plus, but not required

3-5 years knowledge and experience in credit risk and/or financial analysis

A Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), including Investment Managers, Funds, Regulated Insurance, Insurance Brokers, Investment Dealers, Canadian Credit Unions, among others;

Self-motivated with a combination of strong credit and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience with S&P, Capital IQ, Moody’s

Structured Finance - Credit Analyst, Associate Director - Asset Backed Securities - Toronto

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Analyzing the critical credit, legal and structural elements of ABS transaction structures;

Assisting in the development of ratings criteria, including writing relevant reports and developing recommendations to bolster analysis;

Deployment and implementation of cashflow models and tools used in the rating process;

Leading and/or supporting research projects; and

Actively manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors. Effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures. Participate in client meetings.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis of ABS by helping to resolve clients’ analytical needs.

Work on special projects as directed by the analytical team manager.

(3) or more years of relevant work experience

Prior credit analysis experience, including banking.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
