Assistant Distribution Center Manager Jobs in Nova Scotia

3-8+ years of previous warehouse and distribution centre leadership, supervision or management experience

Hands on experience with Warehouse Management and ERP systems

Management experience and personality that believes in supporting a positive, collaborative work culture

Oversee receiving, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and warehouse personnel management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ensure warehouse safety by eliminating potential hazards, promoting awareness, and practicing safe lifting techniques.

Solid verbal and people skills as well as strong decision-making skills

Thrived in a fast-paced environment because of your professionalism, organizational and problem-solving skills

Support customers and employees by being a hub of information

Analyze budget reports and spreadsheets

Coordinate customer events as well as employee events, which include meetings and rallies

An understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

Previous experience (3+ years) proven leadership experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar management position preferred

Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Measure and manage employee actions and performance by aligning to strategic plans

Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results

Strong working knowledge of warehouse systems and CI processes

Excellent leadership and organizational skills

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management and Distribution/Fulfillment Logistics or equivalent work experience is required.

3+ years Inventory Management Software experience

Demonstrated success in leadership, prioritizing and time-management

Manage and monitor all activities of Inventory control and maintenance

Reports to the Operations Manager and provides regular location updates.

Acquires and maintains information on distribution industry changes to remain knowledgeable of the most current distribution methods available.

Preference will be given to candidates with project management experience; ideally site start-up experience.

Strong analytical skills, experience with WMS and Excel.

Must have experience overseeing a complex distribution operation, preference for big, bulky merchandise (furniture, appliances, etc)

Must be a motivated team builder; coach and mentor.
