Assistant Building Operator Plant Operations Jobs

Self-starter with effective organizational and time management skills, able to work well with minimal supervision

Successful completion of a related post-secondary program or prior relevant experience

Previous experience working with concrete or within the construction industry would be considered an asset

Help in performance management: communicate job expectations and conduct employee evaluations for all departments on an annual basis.

Assist the group controller in providing oversight and direction and delegation of responsibilities to all members in the accounting team

Minimum 3+ yrs experience in a manufacturing environment along with some

Assist the plant controller in the preparation of reports and KPI's each month.

Conduct job analysis on a semi-yearly basis.

Prepare monthly actual vs. budget departmental reports and review results.

Close work orders and document work completed using the plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

At least 5 years prior experience in facility operation and maintenance is required.

Experience with gas fired engines or gas compression equipment is an asset.

Strong administrative skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude

Monitor plant systems including visual inspection of plant equipment.

High school education – minimum Grade 10.

Experience in the production and distribution of power.

Basic computer skills are an asset.

Knowledge of Nunavut, the land, language, and culture.

Operates the plant ensuring all safety and emergency equipment are maintained in accordance with applicable standards.

Conducts plant checks as required to ensure there are no issues requiring immediate attention.

High school education – minimum Grade 10.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with proven abilities to resolve conflict on various levels

General safety knowledge, experience and awareness

Safely operate equipment in an industrial setting

Professionally represent GFL and provide exceptional service to all clients

Participate in GFL’s safety programs including: safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments

H2S, Confined Space Entry and Fall Arrest required prior to start date

Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform high labour intensity tasks in a team environment
